Weirdale’s history

Collection

Weirdale was founded between 1929 and 1931, when the Canadian Pacific Railway opened a new frontier on the Prairies. The pioneers who arrived in the area cleared the thick forest and muskeg by hand, turning it into rich farmland. Large families lived on every quarter of farmland, and those families brought the population to the district.
